iPhone 4S vs Samsung Galaxy SII
While Samsung and Apple battle it out in court, their flagship phones are battling it out in the market place. Thanks to Telstra Shop Caloundra, I have been fortunate enough to get my hands on both models to compare features and performance. I have been using an iPhone 3Gs for about 9 months but prior to that I was using a Nokia N97. My bias has always leaned towards non-Apple products as my technical training favours open source devices. I have put all bias aside for now while I review the phones and I will compare feature for feature over the next few days.

Mark’s View:
Both phones look great. The iPhone is slightly thicker and heavier, although the Galaxy SII feels MUCH lighter and the screen looks MUCH bigger. The 4S has superior resolution once you’re past the lock screen: (Translation: videos and movies are better on the iPhone 4S.) Battery life is good on both units but the Galaxy SII wins when browsing the internet or watching videos for any length of time, but not by much.
Tomorrow I’ll report on what the features are, whether they work and how easy they are to access.
